Operations managers have to wear
many hats to get their jobs done each day. Right from planning, and strategy to
development, production, and distribution, they typically come across many
departments to make sure that all goods and services are delivered properly.
They are usually tasked with finding and removing the obstacles that are
holding the production back. They always prioritize understanding the business
strategy and the role of operations in managing it.
Overall, operations management is
the business function that is responsible for managing the process of creation
of goods and services. It is all about managing people, equipment, technology,
information, and all other resources required in the production of goods and
services.
Formerly serving as an operations
manager at Jani-King, Marcello Pompa was solely
responsible for more than 22 accounts on the Boston area with an average of
$475k a month. Highly detail-oriented and analytical, Marcello was tech-savvy
and willing to learn the latest tools to help analyze the data and improve
operations. He always stood up for his team and supported it. Besides, he
always focused on establishing standard processes and ways of doing things. He
contacted the customers to reduce the territory loss, thus retaining the
accounts each month.
Marcello also worked on
increasing the territory accounts by asking the current customers any business
partners the cleaning services, if required. He set up a monthly and weekly
contact as much as possible to each customer in an attempt to reduce the
customer service complaint calls.

duties included training, supervising, scheduling, data entry, employment
verification, company compliance, paperwork logging, processing of unemployment
claims, customer complaints and motivating a 5- member team of full time
employees.
Currently serving as the
President of M & M Cleaning Inc., Marcello Pompa has developed a
strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives, thus promoting
revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. Besides, he supervises
company operations in order to insure production efficiency, quality, service,
and cost effective management of resources. He also plans, develops, and
implements strategies for generating the resources for the company.
